Dr Nadine Page, Dr Sabine Bergner and Stefan Wills explore the impact of the dark personality traits of Narcissism, Machiavellianism and Psychopathy on leadership performance and the influence of these dark traits on leader-follower relationships.  Interesting research with some very useful recommendations to support the development of leaders that exhibit “dark traits”.  Recommendations include: acknowledge and accept that you have a dark side and identify when it might be more prevalent; get to know what your dark side looks like from your perspective and how other people might see it; manage your dark side for effective leadership performance (i.e. keep yourself healthy, identify triggers that could activate your dark side and develop suitable coping mechanisms).  Click here for the full research publication.
